A significant national project in Malaysia, the Stormwater Management And Road Tunnel (SMART Tunnel), E38, is a storm drainage and road construction in Kuala Lumpur. The 9.7 km (6.0 mi) tunnel is the second-longest in Asia and the longest stormwater drainage tunnel in Southeast Asia.
This tunnel's primary goals are to alleviate Kuala Lumpur's flash flood problem and to lessen rush-hour traffic bottlenecks on Jalan Sungai Besi and the Loke Yew Flyover near Pudu. The drainage tunnel and the highway tunnel are the two halves of this tunnel. The world's longest tunnel with several uses is this one.
